Stay centered and focused
This week I learned a lot about having a course and destination in mind so that I can make a plan. I really enjoyed the "phases" outlined in the Launching Leaders reading. Having a goal for where you want to be and what you want to accomplish is so important to success. Otherwise, how do you know if you can see your actions as successful when you don't know what you're working towards? Including God in those "phases" is a key part of aligning our plans for a meaningful life. I love the idea of a daily devotional to keep God centered in decisions.
The formula is a game changer for me and is the perfect equation for success. Getting up early is #1 and has been something I have always felt a good thing. I am more of a morning person because I feel inspired to get moving and accomplish things most mornings. Working hard is also part of the formula. If you get far in life without working hard, do you even feel satisfied or happy? Hard work is rewarding! Getting an education in whatever you are interested in is going to be the foundation for confidence. When you know what is going on, making decisions is so much easier. "Finding your oil" is a phrase that means you have got to find that thing that excites and motivates you! Making your mark means making a difference. Giving back is part of life and the laws of God. He knows by giving back we can remain humble and fight pride and selfishness.
Something that I want to work on personally is getting "skin in the game". This can refer to investing money in what you are doing, but it can also mean starting to care about your cause. Go all in and give what you're doing the best shot you've got. By doing this, you are investing in what you believe in and is much for rewarding than being shy and not caring about anything.
